​Werte (hello) - we're Amunda, Myra and Grace - Arrernte women, sisters, artists, and the founders of No Fixed Gallery, proudly based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) NT, Central Australia.

 

Art is more than what we create - it's how we live, tell our stories, and continue to practice our culture. No Fixed Gallery is our way of honouring who we are and where we come from, while sharing that with the world. It's also a place where we encourage and support the next generation of creatives in our community.

Our story

 

We grew up in the remote community of Ltyentye Apurte (Santa Teresa), an hour's drive southeast of Mparntwe. Growing up in remote Central Australia, art was a way to express ourselves and keep ourselves entertained. In all its forms, art had always been encouraged by our family and community and has remained central to our lives.

 

Now living in Mparntwe, we wanted to continue that tradition - for ourselves and for others. No Fixed Gallery was born as a place where anyone could come share their art, whether they painted for galleries or just for themselves.

Today, No Fixed Gallery is a welcoming space to create, connect, learn, and celebrate Arrernte culture. It's about sharing stories, naturing young artists, maintaining wellbeing, and keeping creativity alive in our community.

Through our art and Conversations through Art painting workshops, we create a space for cultural exchange, understanding, and celebration. At No Fixed Gallery, every piece is created ethically and independently, with profits going directly back into supporting our family business and building pathways for artists in our community. This is more than selling art—it’s about nurturing culture, maintaining wellbeing, sharing our voices and inspiring the next generation.
